A "wiki" is a new type of web page that can be easily changed.  You can also just read and use the information.  For now, use this webpage for the following activities:

Listen to Mr. Bakin read stories from Everyday Heroes (by Beth Johnson, www.townsendpress.com) paragraph by paragraph.  You can listen as many times as you want! After you listen many times, practice reading each paragraph until you can read the story clearly!

The page numbers are from the "small" size edition of the book

Juan Angel's Story (pages 35 to 41)

Xinrong's Story (pages 101 to 108)

Oscar De La Torre's Story (pages 109 to 116)

Maria Cardenas' Story (pages 75 to 84)

Margaree Crosby's Story (pages 125 to 133)

Remember that you can save each part of the story on your own computer at home so that you can "download" it to your iPod or other MP3 player! Here's a photo of Oliver downloading Xinrong's story to his Nokia phone!

"Pro and Con" - Is this a good idea?

What do you think about this idea? Is this a good idea?  Is it a bad idea?  Imagine that you are on the city council of your city.  You have to decide if you should buy a bicycle like this for every house in your city.  Make a list of the reasons why this bicycle is a good idea. Make another list of why this bicycle is not a good idea.  Be prepared to make a decision about whether to spend money and buy a bicycle like this for every household in your city.
